This Is My Last Day

“According to the note in my pocket, I am going to die before midnight tonight.”

My name is Jake Morrow. I'm twelve years old.

THE STORY

One Note. One Day. One Very Worried Boy.

A comic mystery about fear, family, friendship and finding courage when the clock is ticking.

Jake Morrow thought he was having a normal school day. Then he found the note.

Now every lesson, every conversation and every embarrassing moment feels like it might be his last.

But this is not just a story about fear. It is about family, friendship, courage, and the people Jake cannot bear to leave behind.

MEET THE PEOPLE YOU'LL NEVER FORGET

Jake

Jake Morrow

"If worrying was an Olympic sport, Jake Morrow would probably win gold."

At twelve years old, Jake has an extraordinary talent for worrying about things that probably aren't going to happen... until one day, they do.

Whether he's trying to survive school, impress Ruby, help his twin brother Jack, or simply make it through the day without making a complete fool of himself, things rarely go according to plan.

Beneath the panic, the jokes and the disasters is something much more important. Jake loves fiercely. His family means everything to him, his friends matter more than he'll ever admit out loud, and when the people he cares about need him, he'll always find the courage to do the right thing... even if he's terrified.

Jack

"Jake's twin brother. The person who always gives him a reason to keep going and the calm in every storm."

Jack has a way of making difficult days feel smaller. He's thoughtful, quietly funny and usually the first person to notice when something is bothering Jake.

The brothers couldn't be more different in personality, but together they make each other stronger. Jack gives Jake confidence, while Jake would do absolutely anything to protect Jack.

Their bond lies at the heart of every adventure. Whatever challenges they face, they face them together.

Ruby Mason

Ruby

"Confidence isn't something Ruby pretends to have. It's something she's earned."

Ruby is the sort of person who makes difficult things look easy. Whether she's standing on a wrestling mat, speaking her mind or helping a friend, she has a quiet confidence that makes people naturally trust her.

She doesn't try to be the centre of attention. She simply refuses to let fear decide what she can and can't do. It's one of the many reasons people are drawn to her.

Jake admires that confidence more than he'll ever admit out loud. Ruby believes kindness is a far better measure of a person than confidence or popularity.

Alex

"If Jake hears Alex say, 'I've got an idea,' it's usually time to start worrying."

Alex has an extraordinary gift for turning perfectly ordinary days into unforgettable adventures. He's quick with a joke, endlessly optimistic and almost always convinced that everything will work out in the end... even when common sense suggests otherwise.

Behind the laughter is a fiercely loyal friend who would stand beside Jake through absolutely anything. Alex has an instinct for knowing exactly when someone needs to smile, and somehow always manages to find one.

His ideas don't always go to plan, but his heart is always in the right place. Life is simply more fun when Alex is around.

WHY THESE STORIES MATTER

More Than Just Adventures

Every Jake Morrow story begins with an ordinary day. Then something unexpected happens.

Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it's frightening. Sometimes it changes everything.

But at the heart of every adventure is the same idea. Family matters. Friends matter. Kindness matters. And even the people who worry the most can discover courage when it matters most.

Because growing up isn't about becoming fearless. It's about learning that you never have to face life on your own.
